Physicians and social media
I neglected to post this a couple of months ago, but I had my first-ever story published at Medscape back in November, on the subject of physicians and social media. Feedback is appreciated.

Read in your recent Physicians and Social Media story on Medscape that email isn't HIPAA compliant. But I heard from a colleague that a new software for Microsoft Outlook has been released that does ensure HIPAA compliance for docs. Here's one of the links to the Columbus dispatch that they sent me. It's a company called Manage-Trak — I'm not a client, customer, etc., just a health care communications person who gets your blog updates.Thought you'd want to know.http://markets.dispatch.com/columbusdispatch/?GUID=11441230&Page=MediaViewer&Page=MediaViewer&ChannelID=3191
Ii think your post give an inside look as to how doctors are actually using social media outlets. It's a scary world to venture into when you make yourself vulnerable to the public on platforms such as FB. Mentioning twitter is enough to put any one into a tailspin. But going online and making these connections is a must for the docs looking to extend their practice and serve younger generations.
