Another new HIT publication
Thanks, I guess, to the stimulus, healthcare, and specifically health IT, seems to be countering the trend in publishing. Case in point is another new title coming this week. FierceMobileHealthcare, from FierceMarkets. How do I know this? I’m going to write it. In fact, there is a prototype issue up at the site now.
The real thing debuts tomorrow.
Please tell us why we want to read another Health Care IT publication.Best wishes,JFS
I’ll leave that decision up to the publisher, though I certainly can empathize with the notion of having too much e-mail already.
Just to be clear. I am not for nor against another publication. But, if a new publication comes out, it would be nice to hear from the publisher what makes their entry unique or valid in the sea of others.JFS
Joseph,I can appreciate your skepticism about another Healthcare IT publication on the market. Let me try to address your concern by stating three reasons why this publication could be worth your time: – First, FierceMobileHealthcare actually saves you time. The FierceMarkets approach has always been to find, digest and analyze the most important news for each issue of our email newsletters, regardless of the source. Whether from a credible independent blog or a direct competitor, if a piece is must-know news and worthy of your time, we’ll include it in our newsletter and link you directly to it if you’d like to learn more. Using this model, we’ve attracted over 800,000 readers in several industries, and most folks I talk to who read our publications cite this time-saving model as the reason they keep coming back. – Second, we’ve chosen Neil Versel to serve as editor. If you take the time to follow and comment on Neil’s work at this blog, you’ll get similar value from his writing in FierceMobileHealthcare. And each week he’ll be adding in an Editor’s Corner opinion piece specifically about mobile tech around which we hope to generate discussion.- Finally, FierceMarkets as a company has a traditional strength in covering the Wireless industry (FierceWireless, 70k subscribers) and mobile enterprise (FierceMobileIT, 38k subscribers). As we grow FierceMobileHealthcare, we'll be looking to find ways to bring these three communities — healthcare practitioners and IT execs, wireless industry folks, and non-healthcare enterprise IT managers — together for a useful dialogue.I hope this explains our approach a bit more, and I'd be happy to hear your feedback (mbakley_at_fiercemarkets.com) about our publications.Best,Maurice BakleyCOO & Publisher, FierceMarkets
